San Joaquin County Traffic Management System Repair Project
Project Description
The project proposes to replace or repair 11 Roadway Weather Information Systems (RWIS), seven Changeable Message Signs (CMS), two Traffic Monitoring Detection Station (VDS), and one Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV). Additionally, install all new three CCTV, one VDS, three Maintenance vehicle pullouts (MVP) and six trash capture devices along with associated work at various locations on Interstate (I) 5 and State Route (SR) 99, 120 & 205 in San Joaquin County.
Project Benefits
Purpose and Need
The purpose of this project is to enhance the performance and reliability of existing Transportation Management System (TMS) elements, minimize operation and maintenance costs, and provide designated maintenance areas. This project is needed due to outdated or failing TMS elements and a lack of designated maintenance areas in the project area.
