Functional Areas
- Research
The Research Team manages a comprehensive research portfolio to address research and operational needs across Caltrans. In cooperation with its partners, the Research Team provides solutions and knowledge that helps realize the Caltrans vision of attaining a brighter future for all through a world-call transportation network.
- Innovation
The Innovation Team (iTeam) has been tasked with cultivating and fostering an innovative culture at Caltrans. Guidance, support and expertise is provided by the Innovation Technical Advisory Committee (ITAC). Innovation Liaisons (ILs) and representatives from every District and Division/Program play a crucial role in coordinating, sharing and supporting innovation within their districts/programs and the iTeam.
- System Information
The System Information Team manages, maintains, and provides transportation data and innovative solutions that help advance California’s transportation system.
